Nephilia Sylphwraith

Backstory

Nephilia Sylphwraith is a young and energetic Miqo'te who was separated from her family after her clan was attacked by the Garleans. Warned by the Echo, she attempted to tell the others of the danger, but the adults treated her words as nothing but an infantile attempt to gain attention. Annoyed by her attempts, they exiled her away from the clan, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise for Nephilia.

Guided by the Echo, she made her way to Gridania and offered her services as an adventurer, slowly earning her keep. It was only years later that she joined Talon under the recommendation of a pushy Sylphis Lanah, an old acquaintance who helped her when Nephilia was still a novice adventurer.

In combat, despite her gift of healing, it is not an excuse for her to neglect her training in more offensive arts. While she does prefer sticking back and healing her friends, she will take up her blade if needed. In social environments, Nephilia prefers to stick close to her acquaintances and has difficulties opening up to strangers. However, she does her best to be polite to those who speak to her and maintains a slight smile no matter what.

Current occupation

As Nephilia accumulated experience and success, her talents in the healing arts were eventually noticed by the Padjals. After a long debate and multiple spyi- er, observations to ascertain her ambitions, they took a gamble and gave her the soul crystal of a previous white mage. As it turns out, her resonance with the given jewel surpassed that of many Padjals of generations past. Thus, under the guise of a quest sent to the Adventurer's Guild requesting her by name, Nephilia went through several months of training under a Padjal mentor.

It was during one of her many hikes in the Black Shroud that she heard the weeping of a nearby elemental. Worried about what ails the elemental, she followed its cry only to find a road sparrow far from its nest severely injured. Taking pity on it, she brought it back to her lodging and nursed it back to help. After ensuring that its wounds are fully closed, she let it back out into the wilds. Only to be pleasantly surprised at finding the sparrow making itself comfortable in her lodging. After pleading with her mentor who happened to pass by, she decided to adopt the sparrow and named it Milana.

Now a fully-fledged White Mage, Nephilia was allowed to go back to adventuring under multiple conditions and through the constant surveillance of her retainers who are under the Padjal's service. One of those conditions includes never acknowledging herself as a White Mage in public and to remain a conjurer in name.
